FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Question: Where can I link my company website to your WebLink site?
  2. Answer: Your webmaster can link your website to the WebLink site with any combination of three methods. Our main search page to your home page, and our property detail and calendar page or just calendar page to each our your property pages. OwnerLink is normal a single link from you home page

  3. Question: Why should I link my company’s website to your main search page, when I already have the capability of searching properties on my own website?
  4. Answer: The Stay-USA WebLink site has a very power search "engine." Due to some recent upgrades in the program, the main search page can query the guests’ desires by numerous fields and property attributes. We know of no other company websites with comparable capabilities.

  5. Question: Why do I need images with my properties in the Stay-USA WebLink site when I already have them in my company website?
  6. Answer: Guests will frequently want the pictures in front of them as much as possible throughout the decision-making process. Without the pictures on the WebLink site, they may need to go back to your website repeatedly to refresh their recollection about various features, layouts and views of/around multiple properties, especially if they are comparing several houses. By having the pictures, pricing and availability on the same page, the guest can compare all features simultaneously.

  7. Question: Why do I need "cookies" to be enabled on my browser?
  8. Answer: The use of "cookies" allows the web pages and features to run in a rapid and accurate fashion. Without their use, the program would run very slowly if at all; this is true for many websites. To view your settings, go into the "internet options"à "security or privacy" tabs section of you browser and "enable" the acceptance of first and third party cookies.

  9. Question: Should I charge my owners for the OwnerLink program?
  10. Answer: It is your prerogative to charge, or not. Most owners are so appreciative of the program that they will gladly pay a monthly fee that is equal to, or greater, than your expense. If you wish, give the owner the OwnerLink program for a couple-month trial, and then take it away. It is highly probable that he/she will agree to pay for the service.

  11. Question: What dimensions and resolution should apply to the images?
  12. Answer: No need to worry about anything except the size of the file. Property Plus resizes your images to a standard size automatically. No matter what the size of your file, it always will be downsized to that specification. However, we recommend a ".jpeg" (or ".jpg") file size of less than 250K be entered, as "embedded", into the image field in Property Plus.

  13. Question: How many images/property can I load onto the Stay-USA Websites?
  14. Answer: You can have as many images associated with a property on the WebLink site as you do with that property in Property Plus, i.e. essentially as many as you want.

  15. Question: Which text field contains the description that applies to the Stay-USA websites?
  16. Answer: The text that is entered under the "Description" tab (under the "Stay-USA" tab) is the text that will appear with your property images. The material entered under the "text" header (under the "Images" tab) will only present itself on hardcopy prints in your office.

  17. Question: What is the significance of "Nitty Gritty?"

Answer: The information that is entered in Attachment A (commonly referred to as the "Nitty Gritty") is important for notifications from our Stay-USA site to your office, i.e. reservation requests, booking confirmations, etc. It also contains information that is used to set up the search parameters for scroll-down menus and other fields on our sites. Your company’s Stay-USA site(s) cannot be set up without this document being completed.
